Let the WM Wars begin anew!
I’ve been experimenting with gnome recently. As a hardened KDE vet (as in, I’ve had to spend a lot of time vetting problems in my poor KDE-based version of gentoo linux) I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when I finally got it working on my laptop. Everything just worked.
Of course everything just works in KDE, too, but it’s more customisable, leaving more chance to break things. I don’t need that on my laptop, but I do need it on my production machine here at home. So, the laptop is a nice OSX-style Gnome, and the big beast called Mycenae is still KDE. All good.
Now all I need to do is fix this annoying bug I’ve got with K3B. Such is life on the bleeding edge.
