One is not superior merely because one sees the world as odious. -- Chateaubriand (1768-1848)

A Quote to Ponder

I found this today in one of those random fortune cookie scripts. Those things are full of cool little tidbits and silliness, but now and then pure random chance throws up something worth pondering…

He who has the courage to laugh is almost as much a master of the world as he who is ready to die.
–Giacomo Leopardi

Given the recent victory over Islamic self-victimhood - in France of all places - by the forces of cartoonish humour, it seems highly appropriate. This is a fight between laughter and hate, anmd in the end laughter always wins even if it seems to be losing.

And sometimes the haters and their supporters seem like a a bit of a joke, with potentially tragic results.
