A little fantasy…
I’ve been hearing a lot about scotland wanting to be independent again, the most recent being a link from a comment on this post at BBC-Biased.
Flags are a vague sort of hobby for me. I’ve done the EUSSR and I’ve done a few others. They speak about a country. It was an interesting exercise to try and imagine what the union jack would look like without Alban’s saltire on it.

The red diaganol is “St Andrews” cross, which is flown in various places and represents the dependencies like Jersey and Guernsey. The lion represents either the royal family and the unity of the nation depending on how you look at it. And no, Wales doesn’t get its own bit because Wales was conquered by england a good few hundred years before the acts of union.
Sorry if I’ve offended any of you welsh out there. What can I say? You have your own parliament now. Use your own flag.
As for scotland… a couple of years ago I might have said that they should consider what they’ve got before they throw it away. Not now. Now they’re pissing me off. They can have the oil and we can keep the massive grants they get paid every year. I suspect it’s in our favour, not least because we’d get rid of half the Labour party in a single stroke.

I’m not sure if the Scot do want independance or even the Welsh.
I think it is the new fade driven by the political classes-but seeing as we are going to split up then an English Republic is on the cards.
