The eternal quest for the neo-nazi scum
Chaz and his minions, the lizard army, have often tied themselves into knots whenever a so-called “celtic” or “solar” cross appears, trying to point out the myriad tiny differences between that cross and the symbol they pin down as being soley associated with the “far right”. In fact the far right do use a variation of the solar cross as their symbol but they aren’t as picky about how it looks as Johnson and co, and the solar/celtic cross in any form is also used for other things.
Like British money.
The above is a pound coin (as you can see, it says “one pound”) dated from 1996, the year before the Labour party came into power. In this case the coin is bearing the cross and a “pimpernel”, the flower in the centre, to represent northern ireland. The previous year was dragons for Wales.
It’s a rather ornamental cross. The bars flare, and the solar circle is formed by two broken wreaths or something, but that doesn’t matter. Crosses like this appear throughout Ireland on grave stones, chosen by subversive catholics who wanted to demonstrate their defiance of the ruling English. It’s identical to the flemish crosses that appeared on graves planted throughout the early 20th century. Simliar flared crosses regularly appear on neo-nazi sites and imagery.
So, what am I trying to prove? Simple really. The presence of absence of a particular symbol means not a damn thing. The mere fact that a man has a particular symbol around doesn’t make him a neo-nazi, nor does the absence of that particular symbol mean that another man isn’t one. Hmm… reducing people to symbolic representations and then judging them entirely on that symbol you’ve attached. Sounds awfully nazi to me…
Judged out of context this coin proves that the British government in 1996 was admitting its nazi leanings by so blatantly displaying a symbol of “hate”. Of course the fact that it’s celebrating a part of the Union becomes obvious with even a modicum of historical research.
I know that some people see this as a dead issue but I’m not willing to let it drop. The sort of smear that lead to this cannot be allowed to stand, so I’m doing my tiny little bit to make sure it doesn’t.
