Why Blog?
Sooner or later I’ll be getting people asking me just why I do this. Why blog about so many things? Who are you to say this, or that?
My quote on the top of the page says as much about what I believe as anything else. I blog not because I think I’m better than anyone else but simply because I can. I’m a writer, first and foremost, and I originally started this blog in order to write about my art but it very quickly turned political too - there is too much going on in the world for it not to, really.
I am not a huge blog. I don’t attract many visitors, just a few that wander in on trackbacks to various other, larger blogs but I believe I have a role to play as much as them. The organisations I find myself aligning with form a network, with large numbers of small blogs aggregating and spreading information, rather than a few large blogs pulling it all to the centre. That means that even if I only get a few visitors I’ll make a much larger impact as they spread their information.
So, I play my part, as best I can, in this world wide wibble we call our virtual home. Where possible I try to counter misinformation I come across but mostly I just rant and rave like an itinerant prophet yelling in the desert after a few too many days sucking on fermented cactus. And it seems to work.
